Donald E. Grenard, 73 of Waynetown died at 6 m. (p?a?) Monday (Nov 2, 1998) at his home. He had been a farmer much of his life. Mr. Grenard served as a sergeant in the Army during WWII and was a member of the Waynetown American Legion where he held several offices including past commander and sergeant at arms. He was also a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and Waynetown Masonic Lodge where he was sergeant at arms. He was a graduate of Waynetown HS and attended Shrineham University in England. After serving in the armed forces, he returned to Waynetown where he participated in a vocational education class. Mr. Grenard was born Feb 21, 1925, at Waynetown to Arnet Pierce and Virgie Opal Wood Grenard. He married May Joan Foxworthy on May 5, 1950. She died Oct 24, 1984. Surviving are a son, Michael of Hillsboro; a daughter, Mrs. Randall (Holly) Reed of Marshall; two brothers, Robert of West Lafayette and Richard of Crawfordsville; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Military graveside rites are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Raffignone officiating. Friends may call at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Ind 25 S from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.
